MALDON’S SPORTING HISTORY
A fascinating display of the sporting history of Maldon between 1890 and 1930.

A DATE WITH MALDON’S MARCHING GIRLS
Memories, ephemera and photographs told of adventure, discipline and team spirit as Maldon’s girls strutted their stuff at competitions, community events, and Maldon’s celebrated Easter Parade.
Exhibition times: April to October 2017
MALDON PANORAMA – 1867-2017
On 29 April we celebrated the sesquicentenary of this remarkable panorama of early Maldon with a talk and exhibition. The 3-plate image was produced by travelling photographer, Mr. C. Armstrong, in April 1867.
Our exhibition included an original print of the photograph and digital explorations of it, plus ephemera and reports from the day; our talk revealed more about the image, its photographer, and the complex processing required for its creation.
Exhibition times: Saturdays during April – September
EASTER PROCESSION PICTORIAL – 1969
Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday (15 – 17 April 2017)
All the fun and glamour of the Easter Procession is reflected in the colour slides taken by local residents and which now form part of the Maldon image collection. The procession has always been a highlight of Maldon’s Easter Fair. The floats are usually quite topical and often humorous, and always the subject of a great deal of planning, design and many hours of decoration by the entrants.
You are invited to come along, relive old memories and help our volunteers to identify the people and organisations represented. Also let us know if you have old slides or photographs which we could copy or you would like to donate to our collection.
AUSTRALIA DAY 2017 – OPEN HOUSE
